چکیده

Biphasic hydroformylation of 1-octene was performed using rhodium sulfoxantphos catalyst dissolved in [BuPy][BF4] ionic liquid. Preliminary experiments proved this system to retain the catalytic complex within the ionic liquid phase and to maintain a high selectivity towards the linear aldehyde (n:iso ratio of 30) over several cycles. Process parameter investigation showed a first order dependence of the initial rate with respect to the catalyst and 1-octene concentrations, but a more complex behavior with respect to hydrogen (fractional order) and carbon monoxide partial pressures (inhibition at high pressures). Different mathematical models were selected based on the trends observed and evaluated for data fitting. Also, rate models were derived from a proposed mechanism, using Christiansen matrix approach. To calculate concentrations of substrates in the catalytic phase as required by this kinetic modeling, solubility measurements were preformed for the gases (pressure drop technique), as well as for 1-octene and n-nonanal (thermogravimetry analysis).

Biphasic hydroformylation in ionic liquids: interaction between phosphane ligands and imidazolium triflate, toward an asymmetric process.

Biphasic hydroformylation of dec-1-ene and styrene, at commercially competitive rates, can be successfully performed in imidazolium triflate ionic liquids; the ionic liquid network forms 'inclusion complexes' with the phosphane ligands used to modify the rhodium catalyst.

Aqueous phase homogeneous catalysis using core–shell nanoreactors: Application to rhodium-catalyzed hydroformylation of 1-octene

High catalytic activity (turnover frequencies up to 700 h) was achieved using new triphenylphosphinefunctionalized core cross-linked micelles, TPP@CCM, as nanoreactors and [Rh(acac)(CO)2] as catalyst precursor for the aqueous biphasic hydroformylation of 1-octene. While the hydrophobic core of the polymer offers an adequate environment for the catalytic reaction, its hydrophilic shell confines ...

Porous organic ligands (POLs) for synthesizing highly efficient heterogeneous catalysts.

We reported a universal route for synthesizing porous organic ligands (POLs) via solvothermal polymerization. The POLs were obtained quantitatively, showing high surface area, large pore volume, hierarchical porosity, and superior stability. The POL bearing a triphenylphosphine supported rhodium catalyst (Rh/POL-PPh3) exhibits high activity and excellent recyclability in 1-octene hydroformylation.

Continuous Homogeneous Hydroformylation with Nanofiltration for Retention of Polymer Supported Rh Catalyst Complexes

Introduction Industrial higher olefin (> C5) hydroformylation processes require harsh temperatures and pressures (140 200 oC, 5 30 MPa) as well as tedious catalyst separation schemes involving hazardous reagents to recycle the cobalt catalyst [1]. The use of rhodium (Rh) as a catalyst would lower the operating temperature and pressure but requires almost quantitative recovery and recycle of the...
